This role serves as a critical pillar within the USMC National Geospatial-Intelligence Program, specifically supporting the Full Spectrum GEOINT (FSG) analysis and production initiative. The position is designed to sustain and expand capabilities essential for current and future USMC operations, bridging the gap between advanced sensor data and actionable intelligence for MCIA and HQ USMC leadership.
You will operate as a senior imagery science expert, providing technical analytical expertise across a diverse array of sensor disciplines including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Thermal Infrared, Spectral, OPIR, Moving Target Indicator (MTI), Photogrammetry, and LIDAR. Your work involves more than just data processing; you will define operational GEOINT architectures and guide analysts, operators, and managers on the processes and techniques necessary to maximize the utility of these complex data streams.
In this capacity, you will act as a strategic advisor, developing program strategies, issues papers, and senior-level correspondence to drive the evolution of FSG capabilities. A key component of the role involves fostering relationships with NSG functional managers to resolve shortfalls and promote service-specific requirements. You will also play a vital educational role, enhancing the competency of military and civilian analysts in applying advanced remote sensing techniques and training MCIA collections staff on strategy development and implementation.
Your day-to-day will involve the fusion of FSG products with data from other intelligence disciplines such as HUMINT, SIGINT, OSINT, and MASINT. You will evaluate commercial and academic algorithms, refine measures of effectiveness, and develop innovative, adaptive GEOINT products. By conducting statistical analyses on image datasets and identifying alternative data sources, you will sharpen assessments of current intelligence issues, ensuring that analytic judgments are defensible, logical, and adaptable to evolving conditions.
