About the Team

The Tactical Recon and Strike (TRS) team at Anduril develops aerial small drones (Group 1-3) and the full suite of equipment required to test, deploy, and operate them. We are responsible for transforming products like Ghost, Anvil, Bolt, and Altius from paper sketches into operational systems. Our team works in close coordination with specialist groups to solve some of the most challenging problems facing our customers.

Within TRS, the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) team handles the implementation, analysis, testing, and validation of GNC software solutions for our autonomous drone fleet. Our applications include attitude and position control, waypoint and terminal guidance engagements, and navigation in contested environments where communication and GPS may be denied.

About the Role

This position is designed for engineers passionate about defending the United States and its allies. You will lead the development and validation of guidance and control laws, conduct hardware and software in-the-loop testing, and drive cutting-edge navigation solutions for our entire drone range. The role requires a deep understanding of dynamic systems and a commitment to creating a powerful robotics platform that can be tasked and viewed in real-time through various interfaces.

Location: This position is on-site at our headquarters in Costa Mesa, CA. Relocation benefits are provided for qualified candidates.

Experience with state estimation (Kalman filtering, sensor fusion, etc.). Experience with integrating and debugging navigation systems for aerial platforms. Experience with flight control design and analysis for fixed and rotary wing aircraft or missile systems. Experience with guidance algorithm development. C/C++ Proficiency. Experience with Simulink Embedded Coder.
