About the Engineering Rotational Development Program

Start your career with purpose. Caterpillar's Engineering Rotational Development Program (ERDP) is designed for entry-level professionals ready to apply their engineering education to real-world challenges. This 12 to 18-month program serves as a launchpad for your future at one of the world's leading manufacturers of construction and mining equipment.

Through rotational assignments, you will gain practical experience across multiple engineering teams and technologies. The program is designed to build your skill set within your discipline and foster continuous growth, even after successful completion. You will rotate through different teams and projects that match your skills, working on meaningful initiatives while connecting with mentors and gaining exposure to various areas of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circleDesign components and systems for Caterpillar products to meet customer needs
  • check_circleDevelop and implement control system algorithms using Matlab/Simulink for various controllers
  • check_circleDesign and test electronic control modules and perform PCB layout analysis
  • check_circleDevelop embedded software in C, C#, and C++ for electronic control modules and autonomy systems
  • check_circleAnalyze and optimize engineering processes using mechanical and industrial engineering knowledge
  • check_circleTroubleshoot issues and validate hardware in a hands-on test and validation environment
  • check_circleVerify functionality of control system algorithms on HIL or SIL simulator benches
  • check_circlePerform CFD, FEA, and 3D modeling for system optimization and root cause investigation

Requirements

  • verifiedABET-accredited Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Agricultural, or Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline
