About the Role
GovCIO is seeking a Senior Communications Systems Specialist to analyze, evaluate, and recommend solutions for future communications and operational challenges across various satellite systems. Based in San Antonio, TX, this onsite position serves as a critical technical resource for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our telecommunications infrastructure.
In this role, you will provide installation, technical expertise, and training for all telecommunications equipment and components. Your day-to-day responsibilities include configuring, terminating, and testing equipment, cables, connectors, and interfaces, as well as performing intricate alignment and calibration procedures. You will act as the technical specialist for resolving complex network problems, monitoring the operation of telecommunication network systems, and managing satellite airtime. Additionally, you will track SATCOM terminal movements for the customer and may supervise telecommunications technicians and outside contractors providing technical support.
