As a Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you play a vital role in supporting the pharmacist and ensuring the pharmacy department operates smoothly and safely. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience while adhering to strict state, federal, and company regulations. You will serve as a key partner in the practice of pharmacy, assisting with prescription processing, inventory management, and clinical services under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists.
Your day begins by engaging with customers and patients, greeting them warmly, and offering proactive assistance with products and services. You will be the face of the pharmacy, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure every interaction leaves a positive impression. Beyond customer service, you will utilize pharmacy systems to accurately enter patient and drug information, fill prescriptions, and verify medication details to prevent errors.
In this senior capacity, if you hold PTCB certification, you will also take on a leadership role by coaching other pharmacy technicians and cashiers on system operations. You will manage inventory activities, from unpacking shipments to handling claims for overages or shortages, and assist in maintaining a clean, orderly, and well-stocked pharmacy environment. Additionally, you may support clinical services by collecting samples and coordinating with external healthcare providers to enhance community health growth opportunities.
