As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you are the vital link between our patients and their healthcare needs. You engage customers and patients by greeting them warmly and offering assistance with products and services, ensuring a positive and distinctive experience. Your role involves resolving customer issues and answering questions while modeling customer service best practices, including interpersonal habits like courtesy and proactive help.
Under the supervision of the pharmacist, you assist in the practice of pharmacy in strict accordance with state, federal, and company policies. You play a key part in the daily operations of the pharmacy, from entering patient and drug information accurately to filling prescriptions and verifying medicines. You also support the pharmacy team by managing inventory, handling cash registers, processing manual claims, and assisting with clinical services such as collecting blood or urine samples.
Beyond technical duties, you help build strong relationships with valuable customers and the local medical community. You may assist in outreach to physicians, nurses, and health groups to enhance growth opportunities. Additionally, you coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers to drive efficiency and ensure the pharmacy department remains stocked, clean, and orderly.
We are committed to your professional growth. You will maintain your PTCB or ExCPT certification through designated training programs and state requirements. You are expected to attend training sessions, complete required PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits to stay current with the latest healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Prior work experience with Walgreens. Basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications). Basic level PC skills (e.g., starting/shutting down computers, using a mouse, switching between programs, saving files, printing documents, accessing information online). Knowledge of store inventory control.
