As a Senior Automation Engineer, Control, you will serve as an established and productive individual contributor within our scientific and technology field. This role is pivotal in administering automation and control systems for both modernized and legacy infrastructure. You will plan, design, schedule, and control automation projects in support of new product development, directly contributing to key performance indicators and company initiatives.
In this position, you will install and maintain control systems, evaluate system reliability, and determine lifecycle needs including upgrades and modernization. You will document requirements to support resource planning and operational sustainability, while conducting routine assessments to ensure regulatory compliance. Your work will involve analyzing complex changes in project scope, providing technical input for schedule and cost assessments, and communicating effectively with internal and external subject matter experts to coordinate workflows. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, consistently applying Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions.

Experience with Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus protocols, managed switches, VLANs, and wireless industrial systems. Knowledge of diagnostic and connectivity issue resolution. Professional Engineering (PE) license. Beckhoff, Rockwell Automation, or Siemens automation platform certifications. Experience with Industry 4.0 initiatives and digital transformation projects. Experience with cloud-based automation solutions and data analytics platforms. Experience with advanced process analytics and machine learning applications. Experience with backup systems, redundancy configurations, and disaster recovery planning. Knowledge of integrating Artificial Intelligence in manufacturing processes.
