We are a learning organization dedicated to incorporating our core values—Anti-racism, Boldness, Equity, Racial Justice, and being Rooted in Community—into every aspect of our work.
The Policy & Innovation Division within the Community Impact Department is focused on solving the Bay Area's housing affordability challenges, supporting partners to leverage tech solutions for social purpose, and advancing the foundation's overall policy capacity. The division supports the foundation's mission by advocating for racial equity and socioeconomic inclusion policies through grantmaking, convening, and leadership. This team operates within a Results Based Leadership for Racial Equity Framework, expecting all staff to devote time to learning activities related to our values and skillset development.
The Senior Assistant serves as a vital operational partner to the Policy & Innovation Division, providing comprehensive administrative, operational, and process support. This role is designed to ensure the efficiency of departmental operations while enabling the team to focus on high-impact policy work. You will act as a central hub for the Vice President of Policy and Innovation, the Senior Director of Bay Area Housing, and the Director of State Policy & Advocacy, managing complex calendars, coordinating convenings, and facilitating seamless communication between internal teams and external partners.
Day-to-day, you will navigate a dynamic environment where you support strategic planning, grantmaking logistics, and event execution. From managing data in Salesforce to processing expenses and drafting correspondence, your work ensures that the division's administrative backbone is robust, allowing the team to drive meaningful change in the community.
