About the Role
This position serves as a vital link between the Food and Nutrition Services department and the patients they serve. As a Patient Service Assistant, you will be the face of the hospital during meal times, acting as an effective representative to patients, families, and visitors. Your role involves assembling, serving, and collecting patient meals, snacks, and floor stock with a focus on timely delivery and temperature retention.
In this capacity, you will exercise judgment in approaching patients and satisfying their requests for adjustments within their prescribed diets. You will pass nourishments, fill water pitchers, and assist with tube feedings and infant formulas. The role also involves communicating patient preferences to Diet Technicians, recording intake and output data, and maintaining appropriate levels of floor stock. You will perform cleaning duties in unit microwaves, freezers, and work surfaces, ensuring a sanitary environment at all times.
Location and Schedule
This is a part-time position scheduled for 24 hours per week on the Day shift. The role is located at the University of Rochester Medical Center, 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, New York, 14642.
Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $18.75 - $25.44 per hour. This range represents the first and last step pay rates as set forth in the applicable collective bargaining agreement (UR SEIU 024 H). Individual pay will be set in accordance with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
