The Security RFT/Stand-By position serves as the primary line of defense for the Carl T. Curtis Health Education Center. This role is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the entire building, its patients, and its employees. The incumbent acts as a vigilant observer, responsible for protecting property and individuals from accidents, fire, theft, and intrusion.
In this role, you will conduct regular patrols of the buildings and grounds, examining doors, locks, and windows to verify their security. You will enforce security rules by detecting and preventing vandalism and illegal entry. A key part of your duties involves monitoring unauthorized personnel, questioning or detaining them as necessary, and contacting law enforcement when required.
You will also serve as a first responder for facility issues, reporting fires, accidents, hazards, and malfunctions in heating, plumbing, or electrical systems. Your vigilance extends to vehicle management, ensuring cars are not parked in restricted areas such as near fire hydrants or ambulance entrances. Additionally, you may be called upon to escort personnel between buildings and parking lots, and to assist staff in managing disturbed or belligerent patients and visitors.
Candidates must successfully pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screen. A valid driver's license is required, and the individual must be insurable by Tribal insurance. The position requires flexibility to work various shifts and demands a high degree of reliability and dependability.
This position is governed by P.L. 93-638, the Indian Preference, and the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (T.E.R.O.). While these ordinances will be practiced, all qualified applicants will be considered regardless of background.
