The Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team is a key leadership function within Amazon's Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS). WWOS is the global organization supporting field Loss Prevention, affiliate, and retail businesses by creating and maintaining a prepared and secure work environment. We achieve this through global security centers of excellence staffed by subject matter experts in people and asset protection. Our mission involves creating policy and implementation guidelines, training leadership and staff, utilizing technology to eliminate subjectivity, identifying and mitigating risk, and auditing practices to ensure compliance.
As a Security and Loss Prevention Expert, you will serve as a key leader providing End-to-End S&LP services across assigned operational business units. You will join a team of professionals delivering security as a service to business customers across multiple units within a dedicated geographical area. This role is designed to efficiently and effectively manage security operations, reporting directly to the SLP Cluster Manager.
In this position, you will act as the department's liaison and a subject matter expert for security and crisis management, keeping site leadership informed on key issues, strategies, and performance. Your day-to-day involves performing regular physical security audits, investigating policy violations, and analyzing loss events. You will collect information by monitoring systems, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews to identify vulnerabilities and drive mitigating measures.
You will play a critical role in maintaining the physical integrity of our sites by auditing the health status of security systems and collaborating with subject matter experts and external suppliers to ensure their functionality. This includes interacting daily with external security service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery and a smooth customer experience. Additionally, you will identify initiatives to improve physical security infrastructure and contribute directly to budgetary planning for external suppliers. You will manage confidential investigations regarding theft, fraud, and workplace violence, preparing prompt reports while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
This role covers 24/7 operations and requires flexibility to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The position also involves domestic regional travel up to 50% of the time when applicable.

Experience in implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts; Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors; 2+ years of operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, quality assurance, retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery service, or supply chain; Investigative interviewing experience; Certifications such as Wicklander and Zulawski, Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, Loss Prevention Certified, Certified Forensic Interviewer, or Certified Threat Assessment Certification; Workplace incident mitigation or de-escalation and business continuity planning experience; Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including use of Excel pivot tables and development of charts/graphics.
