This position is located within the Financial Crimes Unit of the Special Investigations Unit in the Investigative Services Division, based in Oklahoma City. The team operates under the 308 State Bureau of Investigation, focusing on high-stakes financial crime investigations and supporting the agency's mission through critical administrative and operational support.
As a Secretary for this unit, you will serve as a vital liaison for agency officials and administrators, performing confidential secretarial duties that ensure the smooth operation of the region or unit. Your work is essential to maintaining the integrity of investigative processes, from reviewing reports for grammatical accuracy and procedural compliance to preparing prosecutorial documents for statutory requestors.
You will be the first point of contact for the public and statutory requestors, handling telephone inquiries with professionalism and directing them to the appropriate authorities. The role requires a high degree of discretion and judgment, particularly when managing confidential records, transcribing legal or technical material, and ensuring that all documentation meets the strict standards of the OSBI Report Writing Manual and state statutes.
Successful applicants must be prepared to undergo a rigorous vetting process, which includes a drug screen, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation (for commissioned positions), and a thorough background investigation. Certain events, such as felony convictions or illegal use of controlled substances, will automatically disqualify an applicant.
