We are seeking a full-time Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year with a specialized background in Biology. This role is designed to guide students in understanding subject matter through evidence-based explanations, thoughtful questioning, real-world models, and hands-on investigations.
In this position, you will create a supportive environment where students are invited to ask questions and work through difficult scientific ideas. Your goal is to help students see the relevance of science in their everyday lives while equipping them with the tools to become innovative problem solvers in modern society. Additionally, you will prepare all students for success on New York State Regents Science exams.
As a Preston faculty member, you will collaborate with grade-level teachers across departments to increase student success. You will be expected to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse backgrounds and learning styles of our students, utilizing educational technology such as Chromebooks and Google Classroom to enhance classroom delivery.
Beyond the classroom, you will add value to our community by participating in science-related co-curricular activities, such as the STEM club or Engineering Tomorrow Labs. You will also maintain the highest standards of professionalism in all interactions with students and parents, ensuring timely and professional communication.
