The School of Science (SoS) at Indiana University Indianapolis is the largest non-medical school on campus, comprised of six departments and two interdisciplinary programs. The Forensic and Investigative Science (FIS) Program, housed within the School of Science, is a FEPAC-accredited program offering B.S. and M.S. degrees with concentrations in forensic biology and forensic chemistry. The program is currently expanding its offerings with a new B.S. degree in digital forensics. With over 260 students currently enrolled and an annual growth rate of more than 100 new students per term, the program is dynamic and rapidly evolving. The FIS program is designed to provide students with comprehensive expertise in forensic sciences, including digital forensics, mobile devices, and the Internet of Things.
This full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer position begins August 1, 2026, with primary teaching and service responsibilities within the FIS Program. The successful candidate will be an academic home in one of the six SoS departments (Biology, Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics, or Psychology) while focusing on digital forensics.
The role involves developing and teaching new courses for the B.S. degree in digital forensics, starting in Fall 2025, as well as assisting with other forensic science coursework. The Lecturer will provide critical expertise to support the educational growth of students in digital forensics, mobile devices, and the Internet of Things. In addition to teaching, non-tenure track faculty are expected to engage in service and scholarly work and are eligible for promotion to Senior Lecturer and Teaching Professor. This is an in-person teaching position at the IU Indianapolis campus.
