As a Middle School Teacher, you will help students learn subject matter and skills that contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible individuals. You will report directly to the Principal and work within a nine-month contract (187 days) based on the board-approved salary schedule.
Your day involves meeting and instructing assigned classes in designated locations, developing a classroom environment conducive to effective learning, and maintaining appropriate discipline. You will prepare lessons, evaluate student progress regularly, and collaborate with other staff members on instructional goals and school activities. Additionally, you will maintain professional relationships with parents and the community, participate in faculty meetings, and engage in extracurricular activities as mutually agreed upon.
Candidates must comply with all employment criteria legally established by the Lee County Board of Education and hold an appropriate Alabama Professional Educator Certificate. Upon an offer of employment, all employees are required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the federal Bureau of Investigation, in accordance with HB 402 ACT 99-361 of the Alabama Legislature.
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on the evaluation of Professional Personnel.
