St. Michael High School is seeking a passionate and qualified English teacher to join our English Language Arts department for the 2025-26 school year. We are dedicated to fostering an environment where students develop essential skills in reading, writing, critical thinking, and communication.
As a High School English Teacher, you will guide students through a rich exploration of literature, composition, and language arts. Your mission is to cultivate a deep appreciation for diverse literary works while empowering students to express themselves effectively and creatively. You will teach a variety of genres, including novels, poetry, drama, and non-fiction, emphasizing analysis and interpretation.
In this role, you will do more than deliver lessons; you will nurture a love for reading and writing by exposing students to diverse voices and perspectives. You will provide individualized support to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles, ensuring every student feels seen and challenged. Your classroom will be a structured, inclusive, and respectful space where critical thinking and creativity thrive.
Beyond the classroom, you will collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and share teaching strategies. You will also serve as a key communication link with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about student progress and challenges. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to oversee student participation in extracurricular activities such as book clubs, writing workshops, debate teams, student publications, or drama productions.
All candidates selected for an interview are required to consent to a background check, commit to our Code of Conduct policy, and complete necessary online and in-person trainings prior to hire.
St. Michael High School is committed to building a diverse and inclusive community. We value patience, empathy, and adaptability in our educators and strive to create a supportive environment for both staff and students. We offer a comprehensive benefits program and a supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and collaboration.
