We are currently seeking a School Nurse at McKenney-Harrison Elementary to join our team. This role is designed to facilitate the educational process by removing health-related barriers to learning. You will serve as a vital resource for student health management, welfare, and attendance, working in cooperation with medical authorities and school administrative personnel.
Your day will involve evaluating the health status of students and the health service program, providing instruction in health practices, first aid, and child care, and assisting in the planning and implementation of school health programs. You will be instrumental in identifying health problems through assessments and screening programs, communicating needs to parents and staff, and assisting in the identification of students with disabilities. Additionally, you will develop and maintain systems for first aid and emergency care, administer medications, provide health counseling, and connect families with community health resources. This position includes providing in-service educational opportunities for school staff and classroom instruction on health-related issues as specified by the Superintendent.
