The Health Care Facility Surveyor plays a vital role in ensuring that nursing homes, hospitals, and other health care facilities across Massachusetts comply with all state and federal regulations. This position is dedicated to public health, quality of life, and safety. You will conduct surveys within these facilities, review inspection findings, and evaluate plans of correction to determine ongoing compliance.
This is a field position with the majority of assignments located in the North Region, though occasional travel to the Division's main office in Marlborough is required. The role demands a reliable vehicle for transportation and may involve occasional weekends and mandatory overtime. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of regulations and policies applicable to health care facilities, combined with practical experience in a health care setting.

At least 3-5 years of professional work experience as a Registered Nurse working in a health care facility, preferably nursing homes. Proven experience in a health care profession, in addition to basic investigative skills. General knowledge of state and federal regulations related to hospitals and nursing homes. Skilled in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, confidentiality and decision making to achieve objectives. Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills with the capacity to demonstrate strong interpersonal, interviewing, teamwork, communication and organizational skills. Proficient usage of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Skills: Registered Nurse, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, Class D Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (substitutes for up to 1 year of experience); Graduate degree in Nursing (substitutes for up to 2 years of experience).
