Upper Room AIDS Ministry (URAM) is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in the heart of Harlem. We are dedicated to providing Primary Care, Specialty Care, Dental Care, and Wellness Care to those seeking diagnosis and treatment. Our mission is rooted in delivering excellent internal and external customer service while practicing rigorous risk management and quality assurance.
As a Registered Nurse at URAM, you will be a critical member of our care team, serving patients with diverse backgrounds and needs. This role is pivotal in ensuring the continuity of care, bridging the gap between clinical treatment and administrative coordination. You will work closely with nursing staff, physicians, and the administration to plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing care tailored to the specific concerns of our patients.
Your day will involve a dynamic blend of direct patient care and strategic oversight. You will triage urgent requests, manage patient flow, and assist physicians during examinations and treatments. Beyond the bedside, you will play a leadership role in maintaining quality standards through ongoing assessment and implementation of care plans. You will also handle essential administrative tasks, such as managing hospital discharge follow-ups, monitoring chronic disease tools, and overseeing vaccine inventory.
We are seeking a nurse who embodies professional integrity and possesses a deep commitment to caring, courtesy, and respect for all patients. The ideal candidate thrives in an interdisciplinary environment and has experience working in Federally Qualified Health Centers or low-resource settings. We value individuals with specific experience in caring for people experiencing homelessness, those living with HIV, people who use substances, and those seeking gender-affirming care.
At URAM, we foster an environment that promotes interdisciplinary care planning and upholds the dignity of every patient. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring our care spaces are safe and welcoming for all, regardless of background or circumstance.
If you are passionate about serving the Harlem community and meet the licensing and certification requirements, please submit your application. We review all applications to find the best fit for our team.
URAM is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability status, or veteran status. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
