This position serves as a vital link between the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) community and campus safety. The primary mission is to maintain a secure, orderly, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will act as the first line of defense, enforcing the student code of conduct and ensuring the physical safety of the school grounds.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of proactive monitoring and responsive action. You will patrol campus grounds, manage traffic and parking logistics, and operate security screening devices to prevent prohibited items from entering school areas. The role requires constant vigilance in monitoring alarm systems and entrance/exit points to detect emergencies or unauthorized access.
Beyond physical security, you will serve as a point of contact for the community. This includes resolving conflicts between students, escorting visitors, and assisting law enforcement when necessary. You will also provide supervision at extra-curricular activities and graduations, ensuring student safety during high-traffic events. A key part of the job is maintaining professional relationships with DISD staff, parents, and community members while documenting all incidents, from minor infractions to theft or vandalism, in detailed daily reports.
This is a campus-based role requiring regular and punctual attendance at the worksite. Travel throughout the district is an integral part of the position. The work environment typically features a moderate noise level. As this role demands on-site presence to perform essential duties, remote work or alternate work arrangements are not available.
