This position serves as a vital link between campus safety and the school community, ensuring a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role exists to proactively manage campus security operations, enforce school policies, and respond effectively to incidents ranging from minor infractions to public safety hazards. You will be the first point of contact for many on campus, requiring a professional demeanor that balances firm enforcement with approachable support.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of proactive monitoring and reactive problem-solving. You will patrol campus grounds, controlling traffic and parking while registering student vehicles and maintaining accurate records. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to monitoring entrances and exits, operating detection devices to screen individuals and property, and keeping a vigilant watch on alarm systems to detect emergencies.
When incidents occur, you will investigate complaints, disturbances, or violations, and resolve conflicts between students. This may involve documenting vandalism, car accidents, or theft, and preparing detailed activity reports. You will also assist law enforcement personnel as needed, escort students or visitors to designated locations, and provide supervision during extra-curricular activities and graduations. The role demands flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world and a willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession.
