This position serves as a Paraprofessional supporting the ESS (Educational Support Services) Moderate/Severe program at Gila Vista Junior High for the 2026-2027 school year. The role is dedicated to providing essential support within the instructional program, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment for students with moderate to severe needs.
You will work under the direct supervision of the Principal and an assigned teacher to assist in the supervision, care, and instruction of students in both regular and self-contained classrooms. Your presence is vital for implementing individualized instruction plans, monitoring student behavior, and facilitating daily living skills. This role requires a high level of adaptability, as you will be responsible for maintaining student safety across various school environments, including hallways, cafeterias, and playgrounds, while also providing immediate medical assistance and de-escalating situations when necessary.
To apply for this position, candidates must submit a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with proof of MMR and Hepatitis B immunizations, a CPR/First Aid Certificate, three professional references, and an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. A Food Handlers/SafeServ Certificate is also required.
The district will conduct background clearances as part of the hiring process. Candidates are expected to maintain all necessary certificates and licenses throughout their employment, including participation in required in-service presentations regarding first aid, emergency procedures, and crisis prevention.
