The School Library System Coordinator serves as a vital leader and resource for the Orleans Niagara School Library System. This position exists to foster collaboration, enhance collection quality, and support the professional growth of library media specialists across our member districts. The Coordinator acts as a bridge between local schools, the State Education Department, and broader library networks, ensuring that every student has access to a robust and up-to-date library system.
In this role, you will guide the development of a unified union catalog and establish efficient inter-library loan procedures. You will work closely with the School Library System Council and communications coordinators to plan professional development and cooperative activities. A key part of your day involves advising member schools on program improvement, conducting technical assistance visits, and managing the system's budget and reporting requirements to secure state aid.
Candidates must submit the attached job description documentation along with their application. Please note that a minimum of three years of experience as a school library media specialist is required. Individuals must hold or be eligible for School Library Media Specialist Certification upon hire. Non-administratively certified candidates who are willing to pursue and obtain certification within three years will also be considered.
