Key Responsibilities
- check_circleReview pre-construction documents and submit comments to the Designer
- check_circleAdminister provisions of Professional Service Agreements between Architects and the District
- check_circleManage project close-out including DSA certification and financial close-out
- check_circleOversee daily contractor activities and review construction schedules and submittals
- check_circleNegotiate Contractor Change Order Proposals and address schedule impacts
- check_circleCoordinate with public agencies and District staff for off-site work compliance
- check_circleManage project budgets and schedules to meet qualitative standards
- check_circleCoordinate District delivery of fixtures, furniture, and equipment
- check_circleReview substitution submittals to ensure compliance with specifications
- check_circleManage all facets of pre-construction, bid, award, construction, and close-out phases
- check_circlePlan, organize, and prepare reports on project status for upper management
- check_circleMonitor payments for contractors, architects, engineers, and other parties
Requirements
- verified10 years professional experience in Construction or Project/Construction Management
- verified3 years of the 10 years with full responsibility for coordinating complex projects over $10M
- verifiedBachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management OR Bachelor's degree with CCM credential within 1 year OR valid CCM credential
- verifiedOSHA 30 certification minimum
- verifiedValid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by California Architectural Board OR Professional Engineer by State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
- verifiedValid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by CMCI
Nice to Have
Design Build Experience. Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM). Experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS). Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes. Safety and OSHA Safety Regulations (OSHA 30 minimum). A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).
