As a School Based Support Specialist, you will provide intensive outpatient case management and behavioral health support directly within school settings. This role exists to help students build coping skills, improve social-emotional functioning, and strengthen daily living skills, ultimately supporting their success in school, home, and community environments.
You will collaborate closely with families, schools, community partners, and treatment providers to ensure coordinated, person-centered care. Your day will involve providing behavioral health interventions aligned with individualized treatment goals, conducting home visits and community outreach to maintain engagement, and managing crisis intervention and follow-up support. Candidates selected for this role must successfully complete background checks, including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks. Upon hire, you will complete a New Hire Orientation and all required trainings, including Relias training and specific state or agency standards (such as IDHS Division of Mental Health training for Illinois-based programs).
