As a Peer Support Specialist, you will serve as a vital bridge between clinical care and personal recovery. This role exists to build trusting, recovery-focused relationships with patients, utilizing your own lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery to provide authentic mentoring and emotional support. You will be an integral part of the interdisciplinary team, collaborating closely with nurses, therapists, and social workers to enhance patient engagement and self-determination.
In your day-to-day, you will facilitate recovery and wellness groups, co-lead support sessions, and assist individuals in navigating healthcare and community resources. Your presence will help model effective coping strategies and wellness self-management skills, ensuring that every patient feels heard, supported, and empowered to advocate for their own journey.
Candidates selected for an interview will be required to complete a background check and health clearance in accordance with healthcare regulations. Successful applicants must hold a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) credential or equivalent state credential, or demonstrate the ability to obtain one.
