COMCARE, a division of Sedgwick County, is dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with Serious Emotional Disturbance and their families. This position serves as a vital link between clinical care and the school environment, providing goal-directed, client-centered, and medically necessary therapy primarily within the USD 259, 260, 262, 263, and 266 school districts. The role also extends to the Family and Children's Community Services Clinic as needed.
In this capacity, you will drive to various school locations to conduct individual therapy, risk assessments, and intake evaluations. Your work focuses on remediating symptoms of mental illness and enhancing the emotional and functional well-being of your clients. You will collaborate closely with clients, guardians, and community partners to develop and review quality treatment plans, ensuring that therapy remains goal-directed and responsive to client needs.
This position is unique in its alignment with the local school calendar. You will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evening hours required. Please note that this role follows the school schedule, and employees are granted an unpaid leave of absence during the summer months when school is not in session.
As a driving-level position, you must have access to a personal passenger vehicle, a valid US driver's license without restrictions, and current proof of automobile insurance to travel between school sites and clinics effectively.

Applicants must meet specific licensing requirements, including a Master's Degree and licensure by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (LMSW, LMFT, LMLP, LPC, or LP). Those hired with a temporary license must test for permanent licensure within 90 days. All candidates must pass KBI, DCF child abuse checks, adult abuse registry checks, and motor vehicle screens.
