We are seeking a Salesforce Technical Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise Salesforce solutions for a California state agency. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end technical vision, encompassing data models, integrations, security, and platform governance. As the senior technical authority, you will guide development teams, system integrators, and state stakeholders through the full project and approval lifecycle.
This role is critical for translating complex business and regulatory requirements into scalable, maintainable technical designs that align with Salesforce best practices and state standards. You will serve as the bridge between technical execution and strategic oversight, ensuring that solutions are robust, secure, and capable of supporting the agency's mission.
Your work will involve defining the overall solution architecture, including object design and sharing models, while establishing development standards and governance practices. You will lead technical design reviews and provide hands-on guidance on Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and declarative configuration. A significant portion of your time will be spent collaborating with project managers, business analysts, and control agencies throughout the SDLC, as well as supporting procurement activities by reviewing SOWs and vendor proposals.
You will also drive data migration strategies for legacy-to-Salesforce transitions and provide technical leadership during testing, UAT, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization. A key component of this role involves mentoring state staff and transferring knowledge to ensure long-term sustainability.
Candidates with experience delivering Salesforce in a public sector environment and familiarity with California Department of Technology (CDT) project frameworks are strongly preferred. The selection process will evaluate your ability to lead large, complex IT projects and your depth of expertise in the Salesforce ecosystem.

Prior Salesforce delivery experience with a California state agency or other U.S. public sector/government organization. Experience with Salesforce Public Sector Solutions and Government Cloud. Familiarity with the CDT Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) / Project Delivery Lifecycle (PDL) and the California Project Management Framework (CA-PMF). MuleSoft and/or DevOps tooling (Copado, Gearset, Git-based CI/CD) experience. Salesforce certifications such as Technical Architect (CTA), Application Architect, System Architect, Integration Architect, Data Architect, or Platform Developer I & II.
Skills: Salesforce, Rest, Soap, Mulesoft, Ci/cd, Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, Soql, Salesforce Public Sector Solutions.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (equivalent experience may substitute).
