The Safety Specialist serves as a vital partner to field operations, ensuring that Nickle's best practices are implemented while addressing specific customer project needs. This position is designed to proactively support the company's safety culture and drive continuous improvement in safety support services. The role requires a deep commitment to operating in partnership with Nickle's culture, vision, and ethics.
You will act as the primary company representative to customers, OSHA, and other safety-related agencies. Your day involves conducting frequent on-site inspections to assess physical conditions and safe work practices, providing advice and coaching to ensure compliance with all regulations. You will identify hazardous conditions and coordinate the implementation of controls and corrective measures to address issues immediately.
When incidents occur, you will lead on-site investigations to study possible causes and recommend corrective actions, while maintaining detailed records of safety-related events. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to organizing and conducting OSHA training plans, coordinating annual safety programs, and monitoring ongoing updates in safety regulations and reporting requirements. Additionally, you will establish working relationships within the construction industry through community involvement and membership in relevant organizations.
