This position serves as a critical leader in maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability across the plant. The primary mission is to facilitate and monitor safety processes to ensure full compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and The Kroger Co. internal standards. You will work closely with the entire plant team to achieve individual and collective safety goals, ensuring that all safety issues are resolved promptly and compliance matters are rigorously maintained.

Your day-to-day impact involves performing all job functions safely and efficiently to support the broader Customer 1st strategy and the plant's overall performance in Safety, Quality, and Reliability (SQR). You will act as a key advisor to the leadership team, providing updates on safety concerns, regulatory compliance issues, and corrective action plans.
You will manage the compilation and submission of reports, surveys, and audits required by regulatory agencies. This includes developing, reviewing, and maintaining the Emergency Response Plan to meet federal, state, and local compliance standards. You are accountable for administering the Respiratory Protection Plan, ensuring all training, maintenance, fit testing, and medical evaluations are current.
Your expertise will be essential in managing the development and training of policies and procedures, including Plant safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Communication, Confined Space, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). You will oversee compliance with the Clean Air Act, manage data gathering for annual EPA reports (Sections 311, 312, and 313), and ensure adherence to Sewer and Water Permitting actions.
Additionally, you will facilitate the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near-miss reports to identify root causes and lead the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence. You will conduct internal safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and oversee the training of safety teams to ensure continual improvement in behavioral and physical safety processes.

Candidates should possess behavioral-based safety experience and knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements. Certification in CRP/First Aid and OSHA 10 Hour or SafetyTech Training is required. Bachelor's degree in a related field. OSHA 30 Hour Training Certification. Experience managing direct reports. 2+ years of compliance/regulatory and Behavioral Based Safety experience.
