About the Role
As a Safety Specialist, you will drive a culture of health and safety by assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of critical safety and environmental processes. Your mission is to promote and ensure effective safety operations throughout Midland Garage Door. You will serve as a skilled communicator who listens first, ensuring that safety messages are delivered clearly and interpreted correctly across the organization. This is a high-profile position that requires setting the example in safety, productivity, work ethic, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleEngage employees to promote a culture of health and safety
- check_circleInvestigate accidents and injuries to implement corrective actions
- check_circleConduct safety inspections and audits to assess compliance
- check_circleCreate and maintain safe operating procedures for industrial vehicles
- check_circleOversee lockout/tagout activities and annual hearing testing programs
- check_circleTrack and distribute safety and first-aid related supplies
- check_circleManage workers' compensation claims and OSHA recordkeeping logs
- check_circlePerform risk analysis to identify hazards and implement solutions
- check_circleConduct safety training sessions and emergency protocol briefings
- check_circleLead the Safety Committee and facilitate monthly safety meetings
- check_circleAdminister safety policies and procedures across all locations
- check_circleUpdate Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and assist with new hire orientation
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or related field preferred
- verifiedAt least 2 years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment required
