This position serves as a Safety and Security Certification Representative, acting as the vital link between CTA, contractors, and external agencies such as the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), and Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT). Under direction, you will assist in the development, implementation, and management of the Safety and Security Certification (SSC) process for Infrastructure Capital Improvement Projects (CIP).
Your work ensures that Safety and Security Management Plans (SSMP) and Certification Plans (SSCP) are effectively implemented across all project phases. You will collaborate with CTA engineers, contractors, and internal departments to document requirements, verify compliance, and uphold the organization's safety culture goals. This role involves managing the certification process for contractors and manufacturers, tracking certifiable elements, and developing Service Activation Plans for facility, bus, and rail system cutovers.
