The Robotics & Welding Field Service Engineer (Engineer II) serves as the company's on-site technical representative, responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing robotic welding and automated manufacturing systems at customer facilities. This role is primarily focused on servicing Cloos robotic welding systems and related equipment, though the position also supports additional robotic welding brands and integrated automation equipment as business needs require.
As a key member of the team, you will function as the bridge between our technical capabilities and customer production needs. You will be expected to restore equipment operation, support customer production lines, and maintain system reliability in active industrial environments. The position demands strong hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, robotic programming capability, and professional customer interaction skills.
This is a field role with 100% travel expectations. Candidates must live near a major airport, with those in Chicago or Milwaukee encouraged to apply. The role involves overnight and occasional weekend travel to respond to urgent production downtime situations and adapt to varying customer production schedules.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and drug screening. Depending on the specific role requirements, candidates may also be asked to complete a mechanical aptitude test. Selected candidates may be required to sign a non-compete and non-solicitation agreement to protect company information, clients, and relationships.

Our field service environment is collaborative and fast-paced, operating across remote, field, and technical settings. Engineers are responsible for acquiring and maintaining their own personal tool kits, ensuring all tools are safe, functional, and appropriate for industrial field service work.
