The Plumbing Leadman/Foreman serves as the operational backbone of our field teams, responsible for launching and managing projects from start to finish. In this position, you will oversee crews of 4-8 workers, ensuring that all phases of residential plumbing installation—underground, top-out, and finish—are executed seamlessly and efficiently. This role exists to bridge the gap between field execution and management goals, driving productivity through hands-on leadership and technical expertise.
You will be the first to arrive and the last to leave, setting the tone for a positive, safety-first workplace culture. Your day involves a dynamic mix of independent problem-solving and collaborative team leadership. From managing material orders and labor scheduling to personally operating threading machines and installing complex piping systems, you will wear many hats. Whether navigating extreme weather conditions, working in elevated areas up to three stories, or managing dusty and loud job sites, you will ensure that projects meet deadlines and quality standards.
As a Leadman, you are expected to lead from within the team, offering guidance and assistance to fellow tradespeople while maintaining your own high standards of performance. We value self-leadership and a "can-do" attitude, encouraging you to seek continuous improvement ideas and participate in our Lean Principles (including 5S). You will foster a positive environment by modeling excellent customer interactions, adhering strictly to safety procedures, and maintaining punctuality.
This role is a critical stepping stone toward becoming a Plumbing Supervisor. To advance, you will develop skills in reading plans, approving time cards, and managing inspections. While specific technical certifications and production experience are required, we are committed to your development; approximately 75% of the skills needed for the next level are expected upon hiring, with the remaining 25% taught on the job by the Field Supervisor.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of an Apprenticeship Program. You are required to own your own basic plumbing and battery-operated tools. If you are self-motivated, organized, and ready to work independently or as part of a changing team, we invite you to apply. Please note that this position requires the ability to lift and carry over 80 lbs and transport tools between job sites.
