About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in the Weekend Program for Acute General Medicine/Telemetry, you serve as the engine and heart of patient care at Rochester General Hospital. You will make a positive difference every day in the lives of patients, their families, and visitors, going above and beyond to meet their needs with courtesy, kindness, respect, and compassion.
The Acute General Medicine/Telemetry Unit (5400/5500) provides specialized care for a diverse and medically complex patient population. This unit offers a valuable opportunity to refine clinical skills while managing patients facing a combination of substance use disorders, mental health challenges, and complex medical conditions. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, holistic care to individuals requiring telemetry for cardiac conditions, as well as those managing diabetes, kidney disease and dialysis, pulmonary issues, and care involving multiple drips, drains, and catheters.
Weekend Program Details
This full-time position requires working all scheduled hours between 7:00 AM Friday and 7:00 AM Tuesday. The program operates on a minimum 26-week commitment. Upon completion of this minimum period, employees may choose to remain in the program permanently or return to a different schedule and shift. In addition to the Weekend Only add-on pay, employees in the program remain eligible for applicable premium pay, including shift differential and overtime.
