The General Surgery department at the Sanford Broadway Clinic in Fargo, ND, is a dynamic group comprising subspecialties in general surgery, surgical oncology, breast surgery, and colorectal surgery. We are a fun, growing team focused on creating long-term relationships with patients while utilizing specialized nursing skills.
This position serves as a vital bridge between patients and the General Surgery team, operating primarily through telephone triage. You will answer patient inquiries, assessing the severity of symptoms and medical needs using established triage algorithms. Your role involves guiding patients to the appropriate level of care, scheduling appointments with the right providers, and educating patients based on their specific calls.
In this day-to-day capacity, you will document all interactions in health record systems, ensuring patient health conditions are accurately recorded for follow-up care. You will also play a key role in maintaining and developing triage protocols to ensure healthcare information is updated timely. This role requires adapting to various technologies to answer inquiries and coordinating care effectively within the department.
