As an RN in Surgery at Medical City Dallas, you will join a culture of mutual respect and collaboration among all surgical staff. You will be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, working alongside providers, surgeons, and surgical technologists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Your day will involve evaluating patients prior to surgery, managing evidence-based practices, and applying critical thinking and leadership skills to independently deliver safe nursing care.
You will take responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy and surgical site verification, while participating in universal protocols such as briefings and time-outs. A key part of your role is educating patients and families about procedures, medical conditions, and follow-up measures. You will also have the opportunity to round with unit leaders, including charge nurses, ensuring your voice is heard regarding suggestions for patient care and surgical workflow improvement. We invest continuously in equipment and technology to support your best work, prioritizing patient safety and workflow efficiency in the Operating Room.
