The Rehabilitation Registered Nurse plays a vital role in assisting patients in attaining and maintaining function due to chronic illness or debilitating injury. This position is dedicated to supporting patients through their recovery process with the ultimate goal of helping them achieve the most independent lifestyle possible.
In this role, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to coordinate a holistic approach that meets the patient's medical, vocational, educational, and environmental needs. Your day-to-day involves assessing the physical, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual dimensions of clients and their families to formulate nursing diagnoses. You will implement care plans by providing direct nursing care and education, while also supervising ancillary personnel and coordinating educational activities.
You will utilize appropriate resources to develop individualized teaching and discharge plans, ensuring quality outcomes through the nursing process. Additionally, you may facilitate community education regarding the acceptance of people with disabilities. Success in this role requires demonstrating professional judgment, utilizing problem-solving techniques, and effectively communicating with supervisors, co-workers, and clients.
Candidates must meet all federal, state, and local requirements, including successful completion of new hire training applicable to the job site. Specific requirements include a current Registered Nurse License for the state of practice, current CPR certification (if applicable), and a TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable). A current Health certificate is required per contract or state regulation. Participation in Amergis' Competency program is required when applicable.
