About the Team
Desert Care Network serves the healthcare needs of the Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin regions in Southern California. Our network includes three hospitals: Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, and Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree. We provide advanced care services such as comprehensive stroke care, a cancer center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and the only Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the Coachella Valley.

About the Role
Join our dedicated healthcare team where compassion meets innovation! As an Intake Coordinator, you will be a vital part of our mission to make a meaningful impact in patients' lives. This role is designed to maintain census at or above budget by managing bed availability and admitting patients according to established clinical capabilities.
You will serve as the bridge between the community and our facility, managing referral systems and responding to admission inquiries in a timely manner. Your day will involve providing administrative support to the Administrator, interfacing with Clinical RNs, and handling referrals from all sources. You will coordinate insurance verification, perform pre-admission assessments, and ensure rooms are ready for new admissions. Additionally, you will develop relationships with hospital discharge planners, families, and residents, while supervising admission assistants and facilitating communication among hospital staff and the community.
