Surgical Trauma "3A" is a dedicated 33-bed unit specializing in adult post-operative and trauma care. As part of a med-surg telemetry environment, the team focuses on delivering high-acuity care while fostering an environment where nurses can develop excellent critical thinking skills. About the Role
In this position, you will utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care, maintaining professional accountability for your assigned patients. Your day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinating patient care in conjunction with other departments. You will perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards while strictly maintaining patient rights and the confidentiality of patient information.
You will work a 7am-7pm rotational schedule that includes weekends. On this unit, you will have the opportunity to utilize a wide variety of clinical skills, including head-to-toe assessments, reading and posting telemetry strips, IV insertions, catheter/trach/ostomy care, wound care, and chest tube management. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 5:1 during the day and 6:1 at night.

Requirements
