The Software Engineering Institute (SEI) serves as a national resource in software engineering, computer security, and process improvement. We work closely with defense and government organizations, industry, and academia to continually improve software-intensive systems. While our core purpose is generally to help organizations develop defect-free software within budget and on time, this specific team focuses on a critical mission: ensuring highly resilient RF communications in contested environments.
We are seeking an intern with knowledge of temporal neural network design and the fundamentals of digital signal processing to help develop and refine novel detection and classification techniques for RF signals across various architectures. This role is designed for those engaged with the CMU-NCA Lab who are ready to apply their skills in a hands-on setting.
The position is based in the lab on the CMU Pittsburgh campus, requiring a 5-day-per-week in-office schedule. Your time will be split primarily between the development and analysis of RF signal detection and classification (70%), the collection and preparation of sample RF data (20%), and the development of other signal processing algorithms and systems (10%).
At Carnegie Mellon, we value the whole package when extending offers of employment. Beyond credentials, we evaluate your valuable work experience and the knowledge gained through education and training. We appreciate your unique skills and the perspective you bring. Your journey with us is about more than just a job; it's about finding the perfect fit for your professional growth and personal aspirations.
Carnegie Mellon University is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background.
