About the Role
As a Restorative Nursing Aide at the GSS SD Tyndall Center, you will serve as a vital caregiver dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our residents. This role goes beyond basic assistance; you will actively partner with the nursing team to implement therapeutic activities designed to improve mobility, balance, and independence.
Your day will involve guiding residents through restorative exercises, utilizing adaptive equipment, and applying techniques for fall prevention and proper body mechanics. You will assist with daily living programs including dressing, grooming, bathing, and eating, while demonstrating the correct application of therapies like ice and paraffin baths. By maintaining accurate documentation in the EMR and promptly reporting changes in resident conditions, you help ensure that each individual maintains their highest functional level of independence.
Hiring Process & Application
Candidates must hold a current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing. Successful applicants will also complete department-specific competency testing and maintain continuing education credits. Please note that this position may require driving duties, necessitating a valid driver's license, a motor vehicle report, and medical qualification per our driving policy.

Requirements
- verifiedHigh school graduate or GED preferred
- verifiedMinimum age of 16
- verifiedRequired Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with State Board of Nursing
- verifiedCompletion of CNA training program
- verifiedAt least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- verifiedValid driver's license and motor vehicle report if classified as Category II Driver

Nice to Have
