About the Role
The Shift Manager serves as the operational heartbeat of the restaurant, responsible for upholding our Quality and Services systems. In this role, you will coach and train Donatos Associates to produce the highest quality food while delivering friendly and honest service to every guest. You are the leader on the floor, ensuring that the team's morale remains high through enthusiasm and commitment, while modeling the performance standards that drive our Mission, Promise, and Values.
Day in the Life
Your day is defined by active leadership and decisive action. You will interact with customers attentively, anticipating their needs at every access point to remove service barriers and resolving complaints with empathy. Whether managing the flow of the kitchen or the front-of-house experience, you ensure orders are accurate and delivered within our promised times.
You will take ownership of the restaurant's safety, security, and assets, managing food, labor, and costs through effective training and coaching. From adjusting staffing levels to match business volume to controlling food cost components like waste and portioning, your decisions directly impact the restaurant's prosperity. You will also open or close the restaurant in the absence of a salaried Manager, completing necessary administrative responsibilities and paperwork to ensure a quality start and end to each shift.
Hiring Process
Candidates must successfully complete the Donatos M.I.T. Program, all corresponding certifications, Shift Manager E-learning modules, and food safe handler's courses. Applicants are expected to execute all items on the Shift Manager readiness checklist before assuming full duties.
