About the Role
We are seeking an Advanced Respiratory Therapist to provide safe and effective care across the entire lifespan, from neonates to geriatric populations. This role is vital to our mission of delivering high-quality respiratory support in accordance with clinical practice guidelines and hospital standards. Beyond direct patient care, you will serve as a key resource and educator for patients, families, and the broader healthcare team.
In this position, you will manage complex mechanical ventilation, perform critical diagnostic procedures, and lead quality improvement initiatives. Depending on your assignment, you may also support labor and delivery or participate in external critical care transports for critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients. The role offers the opportunity to function as a shift team leader in the absence of a supervisor, guiding the team through high-stress environments with grace and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePerform respiratory care assessments, interventions, and patient education on airway care and medication administration
- check_circleServe as a shift team leader or resource therapist in the absence of the supervisor
- check_circlePerform external critical care transports for neonatal and pediatric patients with ventilatory support
- check_circleAssist with labor and delivery procedures including oxygenation and ventilatory support when assigned

- check_circleConduct diagnostic procedures such as blood gas analysis, spirometry, and assist with bronchoscopy

Requirements
- verifiedEligibility for National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- verifiedLicensed by Commonwealth of Virginia as Respiratory Therapist
- verifiedCurrent NBRC registry as RRT (or CRT if hired before 1/1/2015)
- verifiedCurrent CPR certification
- verifiedBasic computer skills
- verifiedWorking knowledge of common critical care equipment
Nice to Have
Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program. Current ACLS/PALS certification. Previous affiliation or work experience in a similar practice setting.
