About the Role
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) serves as a vital member of the care team, performing routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Manager and Medical Director. This role is dedicated to ensuring the performance and competency of care across the entire patient spectrum, from neonatal and pediatric populations to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
Whether you are just starting your career or seeking a new opportunity, this position offers the chance to work with diverse patient groups in inpatient units, the Emergency Room, and Intensive Care Units. You will be an integral part of transport teams for both pediatric and adult patients, evaluating patients for both routine and advanced respiratory care therapies.
Day in the Life
Your day involves effectively evaluating patient respiratory care results and accurately administering, charting, and monitoring the effects of routine respiratory therapy and medication. You will setup, maintain, and document the usage of oxygen, aerosol, humidity, and ventilator therapies, while providing direct ventilator support and airway management.
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to performing arterial and capillary blood gas analyses, participating in quality controls, and maintaining respiratory equipment. You will also be responsible for completing comprehensive assessments on ventilator patients, accurately charting in the EMR, and assisting with the stocking and cleaning of respiratory care supplies.
