Methodist Charlton Medical Center is a 314-bed, full-service, acute care teaching hospital serving Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and Lancaster in southwestern Dallas County. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), you will play a critical role in the therapeutic and diagnostic care of patients across all age groups, from neonates to adults. Working under the indirect supervision of the department's medical director, you will manage a wide array of procedures including arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, pulmonary function tests (PFTs), ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, and bronchial hygiene.
Your day-to-day responsibilities involve conducting respiratory assessments, interpreting patient data such as chest X-rays and blood gases, and utilizing critical thinking to determine appropriate care actions. You will be responsible for assembling, operating, and troubleshooting cardiopulmonary equipment, ensuring the highest standards of safety and infection control. This role requires a deep sensitivity to the unique needs of patients based on age, sex, race, and culture, ensuring compassionate care in a high-acuity environment.
This position operates on a rotating 3x12 night shift schedule (06:30 PM to 7:00 AM) within the United States. The role demands proficiency in caring for diverse patient populations in a fast-paced, award-winning acute care setting.
