About the Role
At SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee, this position is more than a career; it is a calling. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide essential evaluation and care for patients, administering prescribed respiratory therapeutic services with a focus on patient outcomes and safety.
In this PRN role, you will assess patients to determine the appropriate type and frequency of treatment, developing comprehensive care plans based on specific diagnoses. Your day-to-day involves implementing and monitoring these care plans, performing advanced respiratory care modalities, and responding to medical emergencies and rapid responses. You will also play a key educational role, informing patients and their families about health conditions and connecting them with community support groups.
Beyond clinical duties, you will assist with the care, calibration, and maintenance of respiratory equipment, ensuring all devices meet established cleaning and sterilization procedures. Working in a constant state of alertness, you will collaborate with physicians and department teams to deliver high-quality care in accordance with specific orders and department policies.
