As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be the frontline partner in managing patient respiratory health. Your day will involve assessing patients to determine the appropriate type and frequency of treatment, then developing and implementing a comprehensive care plan based on physician orders and departmental guidelines. You will administer advanced respiratory care modalities, monitor patient conditions, and communicate critical updates to the care team.
Beyond clinical duties, you will play a vital role in patient education, guiding patients and their families through their health conditions and connecting them with community support resources. You will also be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and sterilization of respiratory equipment, ensuring safety and readiness for medical emergencies and rapid responses. This role requires a constant state of alertness and a commitment to working safely in a dynamic hospital environment.
Candidates for this position must hold the required professional licenses and certifications for the specific state of work location (Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin), including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials.
