At Kyrene Traditional Academy, the Resource Teacher plays a pivotal role in ensuring equitable access to education for students with disabilities. This position is designed to bridge the gap between specialized support and general education, fostering an inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
The Resource Teacher collaborates closely with general education classroom teachers to schedule, plan, and implement targeted instruction. Beyond direct instruction, the role involves monitoring student progress, developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and providing training and scheduling support for Instructional Assistants. This collaborative approach ensures that support strategies are seamlessly integrated into the daily learning experience.
This is a full-time position for the 2026-27 school year, comprising 194 work days within a 216-day teacher calendar. The role begins on July 8, 2026, for new teachers. Candidates must hold valid Arizona Special Education certification (Cross Categorical, Mild Moderate, or LD) and a valid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card. An SEI endorsement is preferred, and future K-5 teachers must adhere to specific literacy endorsement timelines as outlined by the Arizona Department of Education.
