About the Role
As a Special Education Facilitator, you will serve as a vital liaison between the district and assigned school sites, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). This role exists to support special education staff in troubleshooting complex issues, maintaining rigorous compliance with MET, IEP, 504, FBA, and BIP procedures, and guaranteeing the provision of a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) for all students.
In this position, you will not only monitor compliance but also drive professional growth by identifying training needs and facilitating professional development. You will work closely with site administration and special education teams to resolve specialized support issues, ensuring that programming meets the unique needs of identified students. The role requires a self-starter who can work independently, adapt to immediate needs, and foster positive, non-judgmental relationships across a diverse cross-section of students, staff, and parents.
Hiring Process
Candidates must hold a current Arizona certification and IVP fingerprint clearance. The selection process involves a review of qualifications, including a Master's degree in special education, school counseling, or school psychology, and a minimum of three years of experience in a school setting. Applicants should demonstrate prior experience in leadership roles and knowledge of e-IEP PRO.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time position on the 0212 calendar (July 6–June 3), offering 212 total paid days including 12 paid holidays. Compensation is based on the Certified Professional Salary Schedule, with a base starting at $71,544.00. Additional financial incentives include Performance Pay available annually, a New Hire Experience Credit of $400 per full-time year of verified experience (max $2,800), and a New Hire Education Credit of $80 per hour of graduate-level credits beyond the minimum requirement (max 96 hours, plus $500 for a first additional advanced degree).
